Much Better

There's something about finishing a hard thing, laughing and talking with friends,

watching Harry Potter 6 with Cousin,

and a free paint chip book,

that can make a girls mood turn around.

Sherwin Williams sent my Materials class a booklet of their paint colors. I swear it was like Christmas. EVERY nerdy Interior Design student was SO EXCITED! I guess that shows we are in the right major. I think I was the most excited of everyone though. I'm laughing now just thinking about it! I had the biggest smile on my face for the rest of class and I just kept flipping through it. I'm such a NERD! :P

Thank you for all my friends that made me realize how lucky I am. I love your smiles and I love laughing with you.

"All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make--the better." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sunday was a great day. I was so grateful for everything in my life and I was just happy.

And then I got thrown into a funk.

These past 3 days I have felt sad, depressed, worried, anxious, irritated. And I couldn't figure out why. I haven't wanted to do ANYTHING. Except sit on the couch and watch ANTM and 25 Years of Sexy: People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive. I've been grouchy and lazy. Usually when I get tired of things in my life there is a little something inside of me that pushes me along and says "Keisha, get up. You have to do this hard thing, so get up and just do it. It won't be as bad as you are thinking it will be." And I get up and do it, and it ends up being okay.

Lately that resolve is gone.

I keep justifying and making excuses for everything. Lately my thing has been: "I only need a C. Only a passing grade. What's the point of trying to get good grades anymore? I'm almost done with college and then it won't matter." Yeah, great attitude--NOT! Plus at the rate I am going, I won't even get a passing grade.

I need to shape up. I need to find that resolve to do things that I don't want to because it will push me to be a better person. I need to stop worrying. 3 Ne. 13:34. Things will worry about themselves. Whatever is supposed to happen will happen. I need to stop worrying about looking stupid in front of people. Who really cares if I make mistakes? If I make mistakes then I learn faster, that's all I should care about.

Maybe I just need a vacation. Hopefully that's all I need. Thanksgiving Break is 5 days away. I can make it! I can be happy and do hard things!

Major Monday

So last Friday rolled around and the cool people in Interior Design went to U of U to tour the new Nursing facility.

Me and Ashley on our way. Just so you know--Ashley totally rocks driving in Salt Lake--she wasn't scared at ALL! And we didn't get lost once!

This is Mr. Johnny P. Ringlerspackle. He costs $65,000. He shakes when the computer tells him to have a seizure. He passes out if you give him the wrong combination of drugs. His lips turn blue. He can talk like a girl or a boy. His favorite thing to say while we were there was "Heeellllppp Meee! I'm dying!!". Johnny P. Ringlerspackle is creepy. He looks like someone is pulling his face doing the "slow down daddy slow down!" joke.

But these mannequins are really cool! If I was a nursing student, I would probably love it! Watch a movie about it here. However, seeing them made me extremely glad I am an Interior Design Student!

Then we went upstairs and toured the rest of the new nursing building. I was gorgeous! They added a ton of natural light and made the whole place so much more inviting!

I love the orange staircases!

Then we went to The Pie. :Tari and the ginormous pizza.

Tari, Me, Ashley drinking our Diet Pepsi that lied and said it was Diet Coke. :(

It was such a fun day--despite the fact I was sicker than a dog after eating all of that cheese, but it was worth it!

Unstoppable

Me and Cousin went to go see Unstoppable today. Are you surprised? If you've seen this and this, then you shouldn't be. Chris was fantastic! It was so intense--when it was over, we both let out a huge breath to let out all of the tension! So glad I could look at this face for an hour and a half though:

We are SO excited to see the movie!

Our sigh of relief at the end! :) Go see it! You'll be glad you did!

ALSO. I'm going to be introducing themed days of my blog.

Monday: Major Monday
(what is going on in the Interior Design major? i know you want to know :) so I'll tell you on Mondays!)

Tuesday: 101 Things Tuesday
(remember my '101 things to do before I graduate' book?)

Wednesday: What I Wore Wednesday
(I think I'll be interested later in my life with what was popular--or what I thought was popular--in 2010-11 :))

Thursday: Random Thursday
(anything else random that is going on in my life with make it's appearance on Thursday)

Friday: Fill in the Blank Friday OR Five Senses Friday
(one of the blogs I frequently stalk has a Fill-In the Blank Friday post. You can then copy the blanks and you can learn some new things about me! OR sometimes it's interesting to know all the things going on around me, so what I'm seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, and tasting will be posted for your reading pleasure.)

Random Thursday

Steamers and Warm Cinnamon Rolls. Delish.
Thank you Logan for snowing so I could treat myself to a fantastic treat.

Random, I know. But I love this girl. She has a blog too. She makes me laugh.
I also love these fakesies glasses. Yes, I bought them. Will I have the confidence to wear them around town. We'll see. Will I wear them when I am goofing off? Absolutely.

I also love this girl. She has a blog too. But she hardly ever updates. She's had a post about peaches for what seems like years. But, I still love her. ;) She listens to Christmas music early like me. Which means we are pretty much soul mates.

We had a fantastic girls night where we ate Chinese--YUM! (I made her eat her first few bites with chop sticks, but when she started stabbing her chicken with one chop stick, I let her eat with a fork.)

We also went to Walgreens where they had their Halloween candy 75% off. Can you believe we got Reeses Pumpkins for 18 cents!? We ate until we couldn't move. It was awesome.

We watched How to Train Your Dragon and Alice in Wonderland. LOVED both. HTTYD had a million one liners that were ridiculously funny at 9:30 at night. (Yeah, we were that tired at 9:30--don't judge). And Alice was a lot weirder at 11pm. But overall it was a fantastic night!

p.s. she just moved in to a new apartment! It is darling! Love you Naomi! Thanks for a great night!

( )

Stephanie has been trying to get me to go to her friend's Rocktober* party (*all through October they have parties and you dress up and play Rock Band all night). It sounded so fun, and I was excited to go--but something always came up. (Usually it was my beauty rest, but hey! I need my sleep!). But one night I gave in and we dressed up in our best Rock Star costumes and headed off for a fun night.

Fashion Remix! Here's just a few pictures I got before my camera died (serves me right for not bringing extra batteries!), a few from Aleesha's camera that she was nice enough to share after said death of camera, and a few I stole from various blogs and websites. . . .(don't tell).

My other favorite (besides our entry of course). Made out of 3form.

Our entry! Made from Humanscale. We won People's Choice. . .

. . .AND BEST OF SHOW! Whoo!

It lights up. Yeah, we're that cool.

Halloween! I went home and spent the day with my family. It was great until I got my flu shot and got sick for the rest of the day (but it was kind of nice to have and "excuse" to just sit around and watch movies without feeling guilty--even though I didn't feel the greatest). But I still got to see Court and Calli in their cute slash not so cute costumes.

Random Thursday

It sort of felt weird today to listen to Christmas music when the sun is shining and there is no snow. But don't worry. I got used to it after half a song.

Also! Getting super excited for Harry Potter 7. I secretly wish I could participate in this:

But since I won't be in New York. I'll have to settle for this:

I wish I could take off my nose, so I could dress up for the show like Voldemort.

But maybe I'll have to settle for Harry:

or Luna?:

**make-up courtesy of Calli**

Either way--it's going to be the best midnight movie I've ever been to.

Can't wait to see Ron again. He always takes me on the best dates!
