Midnight Showing

Me + Harry Potter=Love x Slight Obsession
Me, the sisters, and sister's boyfriend went to see the midnight showing of Harry Potter 7 Part 2.
Of course.

I dressed up as Luna.
Jumpsuit, tenny's, and all.

I've been talking in an English accent and using words like "rubbish" ever since.
I sometimes wish I could live in a world full of Ron Weasley, Droobles, The Daily Prophet, Wingardium Leviosa, dragons, brooms, Platform 9 3/4. . . .
I guess I'll have to settle for watching the movies in order again and perhaps reading all the books. . .
Maybe I could even get the real life Tom Felton. I'd be okay with that. :)

I love summer

There's nothing like newly painted toes and summer sunshine. . .

golfing with mini's

I went to Trafalga with Kessa and Calli to pass a summer day by. We went mini golfing and I'm pretty sure I got a hole in one every time.

Then we went to play in the arcade (Skee Ball for me of course). And Kessa, the lucky duck, won the jackpot and got 250 tickets!! It took like 15 minutes just for the tickets to come out of the machine. I was so jealous! My grand total of the day was 47 tickets. I only got to buy 2 tops and a fake tattoo! Maybe one day I'll get lucky and win a jackpot! ;)

Rainy Day

While my family was gone to Lake Powell and I was home recovering from San Francisco, there was a huge thunder rain storm! I love the rain, so I ran out in my rain boots and jumped in the puddles! So. much. fun! I love summer!

Midnight Snack

I love fun bottles full of colorful soda! I found this fun tall Fanta bottle at the grocery store and knew I had to have it!

The Fam in Fran

My family (minus Kessa and Mom) came to drive me back from San Francisco to Springville and we spent a day being all touristy.

We went to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. I love the salty ocean smell. I definitely think I need to live by the ocean the rest of my life.

Calli and her chocolate dentures from the Pier shops.
Court swimming in the hotel pool.
Calli and me at Wendy's. That new berry salad and the berry shake things are divine!

The gang doing the crossword at Applebee's in Tahoe on the way home. :)

I love San Francisco! It was so fun to share it with my family!

Donghia San Francisco

Working at Donghia was the best experience of my life. I met people that I will be friends with forever. It was THE hardest thing I have done, but so worth every second.

These are my lovely coworkers:

Terry, Jessica, Me, Valarie, Karen
Anna, Christy, Natalie, Anjali

This is where I worked every day. The materials library. I pulled fabric samples for designers and end users, I straightened boxes, and put samples back when people brought them back. Jessica and I talked and laughed the whole time. We ordered missing samples and mailed designers stacks of samples. I did "shops" around the showroom by finding specific colors or types of fabric.

This was my favorite lunch! Some days I would walk up the road to Safeway and get a Chicken Caeser Salad and Vitamin Water. YUM!

And this is what I took home with me! Lots and lots of discontinued samples to play with!

I had such a great time in California and I will never forget the things I learned or the people I met!

I sure miss my San Fran Bridges! It's so easy to get a good picture there because it is just so beautiful! Can't wait to go back!!

The Perfect Day

I awake to soft sunlight coming through my blinds. I'm going to Santa Cruz today! I smile and get out of bed. I pull on my swimming suit that looks like it's straight from the 60's. My jumpsuit comes next. It's so comfy and perfect for the beach. After a quick breakfast--my roommates Melissa and Crissy and I get in the car. It's a beautiful day. The sun is shining through the windows warming my arms and toes. We chat and listen to music as I watch the palm trees turn to pine trees and back to palms.

Finally we make it to the boardwalk. We head to the arcade first. I fill my pockets with tokens and I feel like a kid again. I find the Skee Ball and "Mario Kart" games. I play "Flamin Finger" and "Fruit Ninja" on a huge screen.

We laugh and play them all again. After my pockets are empty of tokens and full of tickets, we head to the prizes desk. I have 57 tickets to spend on rubber erasers and plastic rings. Happy.

We make our way to the end of the boardwalk--taking the shortcut through the hot sand. We're reminded of What a Girl Wants. "Mom always says--'If you can walk on the beach and have a steady hand with the nail polish--you don't ever need to pay for a pedicure.'"

Next our hands hold tickets for the old fashioned rides. The colors are vibrant and I don't want to blink in case I miss something. The smell of sugary sweets and fried Twinkies fills our noses. Bells and laughter ring in our ears. I taste the cold sweet mint taste of Dippin Dots Ice Cream. Excited.

We go on a flying ride on our stomachs. I can't stop laughing. The ride keeps going in circles. My laughing starts to sound like crying. Is it over yet? Finally. We get off and I walk a few crooked steps. Slowly we walk, enjoying the atmosphere.

We stop at a roller coaster that has been there since 1942. The Giant Dipper. We scream joyfully as the rickety cars race over the old wood and steel. Exhilarated.

Time for the beach. The wind is blowing and bugs are crawling on my legs. I hope the sun comes out soon. . . Sun. Warmth. A huge Asian family playing there version of rock paper scissors loudly sits nearby. Enjoyment.

Walking in the ocean. Smelling the sweet salty ocean air as the waves crash against my legs. Peaceful.

We stop at the shops to look around. I find the salt water taffy. Cinnamon, pineapple, watermelon, peppermint--delish! Chocolate covered bacon? Sounds interesting. One of those too please!

It's time to go home. Tired but content.

The sun goes down and I smile at the memory of this perfect day.

Week06

I can't believe I've been done with my internship for a week now. I have been planning and waiting for 3 years to go on my internship and now it's done! I had a fantastic experience and I have learned so much about myself. I've learned to be more laid back, more friendly, care about people more. . . My coworkers were so good to me and I will miss the time I spent in California! Can't wait to go back to visit!

I can't believe I made it through 6 weeks with only 30 pieces of clothing! Needless to say, I won't be wearing them for a while. Here's my last week of fashion:

Stay tuned for more posts about my weekends in California!
